This web site is the product of a collaborative effort between Kai Wong and ShengHung Cheng, students of Computer Information Systems at Cal Poly Pomona, and Ms.Cortese, a member of the faculty of Chaparral Elementary School. This collaboration between the students and the teachers is a part of the "service learning" section of the CIS 311 course (Interactive Web Development). In this section, students not only learned the techniques to build web sites, but also learned the workings of a client/consultant relationship, gaining practical consulting work experience in the process.

The primary purpose of this website is to provide a resource for the parents of Room 28. We realize that parents are interested to know what is going on in the classroom and what their child is learning. Through this website, parents can connect with valuable resources and also see, through shared images and news, what is being accomplished in class. The secondary purpose of this website is to provide a portal to games and excellent sites for students to build their skills with. Eventually, this site may reach out to become a resource for other teachers - this is a feature that may be on the horizon.
