If you go to a concert hall and hear a Tchaikovsky symphony, ballet, or opera, you will be
surrounded by unforgettable melody. We can only be grateful that he left behind the profession of law
for that of composing. Perhaps one of the brightest spots in his personal life was being asked to
conduct at the grand opening of New York's Carnegie Hall in 1891. Our focus will be on his
well loved "Nutcracker Suite".
