This website was designed for Mrs. Michele Andrade’s third grade class by means of a work in partnership involving Mrs. Andrade of Chaparral Elementary School and Jeremiah Yassa, a senior majoring Computer Information Systems (CIS) at Cal Poly Pomona University. The development of this project was overseen by Dr. Preiser, assistant chair and professor of CIS at Cal Poly Pomona University.

Development of this site was one of the first few segments of a pilot community service project where Cal Poly CIS students take a service-learning section instead of the normal Interactive Web Development. During the Spring 2005 quarter students developed websites for Chaparral Elementary School teachers. This was completed through the use of Macromedia's Dreamweaver software, Photoshop, and other web-design/imaging software. In addition, the teachers have been trained to maintain their web pages using Macromedia's Contribute software.

There are three main intentions to this site:

1) To communicate information about the classroom ambiance and provide the latest news of class-room events.

2) To operate as a resource to parents to assist them in improving and supporting their children to acquire the finest education possible

3) To perform as an education resource for students by means of enjoyable kid-safe games, reading lists, and other great means.
