What Is Blue?

               By: Alexis

Blue is a sapphire

Gleaming in the light,

Of the cold night.

It is the eyes of

The one you love.

The ocean sounds

You hear all around.

It is the wonderful

tasting bubble gum

flavored ice creamy,

that is so dreamy.

The pillow you lay

Your head down on,

When you sleep.

Jeans you wear every

So often.

Blue is the deep night sky.

The tears that come out

Of your eyes when you cry.

The fluffy warm muffin with blue-

Berries inside,

That you eat every morning.

When I caught a peek of the sky,

Over the night,

It stands for peace on Earth.

Blue is the popping sound you make,

With bubble gum in your mouth.

The seas that drown you,

That keep you from breathing the fresh clean air.

The sweet smell of fresh baked pie is blue.

The depression that you feel,

When a loved one dies.

It’s the calm feeling you have

When you have nothing to worry about.

The fuzzy socks you wear,

To keep your feet nice and warm,

Are blue.

What Is Red?

         By: Alexa

Red is a rose

Standing alone,

Or the sky at sunset.

The prettiest dress.

As mysterious as

Bows on presents

At Christmas time.

A tasty Shirley Temple drink

With a squirt of sour lime

Sweet, yet spicy,

The perfect combination!

But sometimes red can be

Filled with frustration.

Red can be love,

Red can be passion,

It can be the perfect fashion.

Red has a strange smell

Like burnt toast,

With a cherry on top.

The smell of a firecracker,

That goes out with a pop

Red can sound like a rock music beat,

A fire truck siren,

Or the stomping of feet.

Red also might be a lawnmower humming,

And a person humming.

Red tastes good

Like a spicy chili pepper

Raging in your mouth,

For what seems like forever.

Red is my iPod on full blast,

The rhythm of the song

Going so fast.

You can feel red

When you feel crazy!

But you can also be red

If you feel angry.

Red is when you’re happy,

Red is when you’re mad,

Red is the greatest,

It’s definitely not bad!

And now, my poem is coming to a close.

I’ll finish it with this:

Red is a rose.

WHAT IS PINK?

    By: Amber O.

Pink is a flower

That can grow every hour.

Pink can be hair,

That could give you a scare.

You can see it in a mall,

Or you can see it down a dark hall.

It could be strawberry ice cream

My favorite of all.

Pink is a color

That you give your lover,

On a special day of the year.

Pink could be a marker,

Standing bright and tall,

That thinks he is king of them all.

Pink reminds me of Valentine’s Day.

Pink could be bright,

Or pink could be light,

Or pink could be a bright light kite.

If you like,

Pink could be girly,

Or swirly or whirly.

But in the end it is surly.

Pink is a great color.

Pink could be nice,

Or pink could be dice.

Pink is a beautiful color!

What is Blue?

    By: Benson

Blue is the salty teardrop

Dropping from my eye.

Water is the color blue

When there is rain.

I feel a little pain,

And some times some shame,

This is all blue.

A shining rainbow in the sky,

There are many hues

Of blue,

And the warmth of a nice blue

Shoe.

Blue is the taste

Of a blueberry paste.

When you go crazy,

And you lose your energy,

You become super lazy.

Blue is the fresh smelling forest,

And the sweet smell of a hornet’s nest.

The mint that smells the best!

The cool wind from the west is blue.

Blue is the waves making a swoosh,

And a sound of a wrinkly bush.

Ice is cold, solid water

Under the ice,

It is a small lonely otter.

Blue is the cheerful bluebird

Flying onward.

Blue is my favorite color.
