About -This- Site

The web site for Mrs. Prokop’s 6th grade class was developed through a collaborative effort between Mrs. Prokop and DANNY LE , a student of the Computer Information Systems (CIS) program at Cal Poly Pomona University. The project was supervised by Dr. Preiser, the Assistant Chair and Professor of CIS.

This web site development endeavor is part of a series of the community service-learning projects in which Cal Poly CIS students are developing classroom web sites for the Chaparral Elementary School teachers. The teachers are being trained to maintain their web pages with Macromedia’s Contribute software.

The purpose of the Room 16 Web Site is three-fold:

1) to provide an alternative means of sharing information about the classroom activities and events with the           parents and the greater community.

2) to enhance student enrichment through exposure to “kid safe” educationally based Internet resources

3) to showcase actual student work.
