Art

Art is an important part of our first grade curriculum. Throughout the year we practice with color, line, and texture using several different mediums. Art Masters and classroom lessons are integrated throughout the disciplines.

Poetry

One of the ways written expression takes place is through poetry. Poetry is incorporated into our program and takes on many forms.

In first grade we learn the components of different forms and practice the creative process of expression through poetry.

Writing

A core component to first grade in all curricular areas is writing. We write daily using journals, narratives, expository and many other styles of writing. We learn to enjoy the process as well as the product.
