Hi! My name is Karen Corrette, welcome to my first grade class website. I am in my 27th year of teaching! I have taught first grade 19 years out of the 27. I have also taught kinder through fourth. I love teaching first grade; it’s the best! I received my teaching credentials from UC Irvine and my Masters degree from Azusa Pacific. I also teach part time at University of La Verne, instructing new teachers. All three of my children attended Chaparral also. My oldest daughter Kristen, a graduate of University of Colorado,Boulder lives in the Tahoe area. My son, Nicholas is working on his Masters presently and my youngest daughter, Allison just began her first year at CSU San Marcos. My husband, Bill is a principal in Ontario-Montclair. The most important part about teaching is seeing the potential in each child, especially first graders! The growth made in this one short year is astounding. Each child has unique gifts and talents that need to be uncovered and nurtured. That’s the best part about my job, seeing the excitement in a child’s face when they have unlocked those individual treasures that make them who they are.
