Dear Parents, I hope you moms enjoyed our “Muffins” on Friday. From your reactions, I think you did. Saw a few tears there and the happiness that flowed in room 4 after was great. The kids just love performing for their moms! Dads, your turn is coming but the date isn’t locked in yet. There’s a lot going on at Chaparral and the MPR is in use quite a bit around “your day.” We will have our last field day on Wednesday, May 28th. We will be going to the LA Science Museum and see a movie about the Human Body at IMAX. We have two volunteers going who are given tickets like the class. If you would like to join us, you are quite welcome, you will just have to buy your own movie ticket $4.50. I am not sure of seating on the bus, but maybe if there are a few of you who want to go, you can carpool if the buses are full. Let me know if you are interested. We’ll need a final count when the permission slips come in. It should be a nice day, a long trip, but well worth the effort. We have our art master lecture on Calder Friday, and will do the hands on project the following Thursday. We are continuing to work on money in math, Solids, Liquids, and Gases in Science, and “Now and Then” in social studies. We will be outside more this week which will be wonderful, as a week without our few specials has been hard on the kids. We took the district writing assessment and spelling benchmark tests this week. I have not done the spelling yet, but, was very pleased with the writing. Your kids can go on and on if they know anything about a topic. They could write about any animal, and they know a lot! It was fun reading them. They will come home soon. That’s it. Hope you have a good week.
