About this Website

The web site for Mrs. Maciariello's 1stgrade class was developed through a collaborative effort between Ms. Maciariello and Renis Makadia, a senior of Computer Information Systems (CIS) program at Cal Poly Pomona University. The project was supervised by Dr. Preiser, the Assistant Chair and Professor of CIS.

This web site development is a part of the community service-learning projects in which Cal Poly CIS students developed classroom web sites for the Chaparral Elementary School teachers. The teachers were trained to maintain their web pages with Macromedia's Contribute software.

The purpose of the Room 4 Web Site is two-fold: 1) to provide an alternative means of sharing information about the classroom activities and events with the parents and the greater community, and 2) to enhance student enrichment through exposure to "kid safe" educationally based Internet resources.
