Meet the Teacher |

Greetings and welcome to fifth grade in room 14. I am delighted
to be part of your child rearing team for this year of your
child’s life.
I was educated at the University of Redlands and spent one year
in Salzburg, Austria. I have participated in the CMAST science
and math training and the California Literature Project. I was a
four-year participant in the Getty teacher training, three-year
participant in the National Gallery of Art teacher training, and
a two year participant in a JPL teacher training program.
When I’m not doing teacher training in my free time, I enjoy
traveling, reading, and gardening.
I have taught grades 4-8 and enjoyed them all. I have been
teaching at Chaparral since 1987 and started participating as a
parent in 1976. I served as PFA president back when having city
paid crossing guards was an issue.
My husband and I are empty nesters as our once Chaparral
daughters are off teaching in their own areas of interest, Jen
at Rice University and Mindy in Palos Verdes. It happens very
quickly, so enjoy every moment you have now.
