Computer Information Systems students at Cal Poly Pomona. This
web portal was created through a service-learning Interactive
Web Development course taught by Dr. Preiser in the Spring of
2006.
In this service-learning course, students take on the role of
consultants and the teachers act as the students' clients. This
project is a win-win situation in that it benefits everyone
involved in the project. Students at Chaparral Elementary will
have a new learning resource. Students at Cal Poly Pomona
involved with the project will learn about the development
process of making a web portal as well as how to interact with
clients. And Teachers will have a new way of communicating with
the parents.
