Book Report Project Ideas
Poster Make a large detailed poster about a scene from the book. Filmstrip Cut two slits in either end or a shoebox and weave a strip of paper through the slits. Draw a series pictures that tell the story. Retell the story as you pull the strip through the box.
Survival Kit Place items you think the main characters had or should have had to help them in a decorated box. Present to the class. Costume Make a costume that a character wore in the story.
T-Shirt Design a T-shirt that shows important scenes or events. T.V. Commercial Write and act a T.V. commercial to "sell" the book to others. Why is it recommended.
Cartoon Draw a 8+ panel cartoon that retells the story. Lots of detail. Include dialog. Comic Book Similar to the cartoon but add an interesting cover.
Stick Puppets Make a stick puppet for each important character. Use the puppets to retell the story. Video Tape an event from the story, an interview, or a newscast.
Play Write a play and have a friend help to act out the story or an important scene. Mask Design a mask of your favorite character or a monster from your story.
Newspaper Write a newspaper article about the book. How would a reporter report about some of the events that happened? Illustrate. Diorama Build a 3D scene from your story. Lots of detail.
Postage Stamp Design a postage stamp that shows a character or a place in your book. Windsock Make a windsock out of construction paper or fabric. The main event is on the body and the streamers are for additional info.
Parade Float Make a float that represents your book. Word Search Make a word search that hides 10 or more words from the story.
Crossword Puzzle Make a puzzle with accross and down clues from the story.

PowerPoint Presentation

Make a presentation on your computer and present it in class. Use Powerpoint.
Interview the Author Work with a friend to interview the author or a character in the book. Make up your own Any creative way to present your book will be accepted. Have fun!
