This year will be my 13th year at Chaparral. The minute I set foot on campus, I knew that this is the place that I wanted to work and the place I wanted my girls to go to school. My oldest daughter is now off to El Roble and my other daughter is in the 5th grade.
My favorite subjects to teach are math and science. I love doing experiments and showing kids how something works. The best part of my job is when a student says "I get it now!" or "Wow, I didn't know that!" No two days are ever the same.
When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy backpacking, fixing things, and working on computers. This summer my family and I camped in Sequoia National Park. We then went on to raft on the South Fork of the American River.

I love to read! I currently have over 1,000 books in my classroom. I try to include books from all genres in order to reach students. The more of these books that I read myself, the better I can guide students when looking for that next "good book". Many of my students will become avid readers for the first time in the fifth grade.
