Science Fair Project

This year, the science fair is scheduled for Feb. 22, from 6:30-8:30 p.m.  All projects are due on Feb. 21st, so they can be presented in class, and displayed the following day in the Multipurpose Room.  On Feb. 23rd, classes will have an opportunity to walk through the fair during school.

Every fourth, fifth, and sixth grade student is required to do a project and research report.

Requirements:

  1. A Science Project Plan needs to be completed, signed by the parent, and turned in to the teacher by Monday, Jan. 23rd. -- 10 points possible
  2. A one-page summary (due with presentation board - 5 pts.) of the research report to include:
  • title of the project (grade-level appropriate) -- 5 pts.
  • purpose - what do you want to find out? (Use scientific thought) -- 10 pts.
  • hypothesis - what you thought would happen with the experiment -- 10 pts.
  • procedure - step by step instructions of what you did (10 pts.), materials you used (5 pts.) and who helped you
  • pictures and drawings to make the project interesting -- 10 pts.
  • observations and inferences -- 10 pts.
  • results, using charts, graphs, or tables -- 5 pts.
  • conclusions - what did you learn? -- 10 pts.
  • proofread for errors in spelling or mechanics -- 10 pts.

     3. A display/presentation board to display the above information (your summary should 

         NOT be attached to your board.)

***Projects requiring electrical outlets must be approved in advance by teachers.
