Celebrate Pi Day on March 14th!

     I have been teaching for thirteen years in every grade from K - 5, and this year I celebrate a milestone: my tenth year at Chaparral!   Before becoming a teacher, I was a full-time student with several part-time jobs, earning my BA in Linguistics at UCLA and my MA in Education at Chapman University. I enjoy hiking, traveling, Lord of the Rings, and spending time with my family and friends.

     My goal as a teacher is to build a class in which the kids are responsible for themselves and their learning.  I want the students to become critical thinkers and independent workers.  I expect students to participate fully in lessons, discussions, and assignments, and to treat themselves and each other with courtesy and respect.
