Former Roadrunner Troy Telford (Senior at CHS) returned to Chaparral Elementary with a plan to beautify our school and fulfill a requirement to become an Eagle Scout. His idea became the Flower Tile Legacy Wall. Troy worked closely with Mr. Joe Schreiber to plan and design the wall. All students had the opportunity to design and paint their own tile. The tiles were then fired in our new kiln (thank you PFA!). Troy, his scoutmaster and Mr. Kerns worked during the summer to adhere the tiles to the wall. When they were finished, Mr. Hill sealed the entire wall. It is absolutely beautiful and a focal point of our school. Thank you to all the parent volunteers, students, teachers, Troy, Mr. Schreiber and anyone else helped our “flower garden” grow. |
