| Canned Food Drive |
CHAPARRAL STUDENTS COLLECT NEARLY 8,000 CANS FOR THE SALVATION ARMY
Chaparral students have once again proven that they are a very generous and giving group of kids. All classrooms chipped in and collected over 7,800 cans of food and non-perishable items to donate to our local Salvation Army to help needy families in our community.

The annual Halloween Parade took place on Monday, 10/31 at 8:30 a.m. Parents and other family members came to join the fun and watch the children and the teachers march in the parade on the North Blacktop Playground.

During the Red Ribbon Week celebration the students presented a unified and visible commitment toward the celebration of a Drug-Free America. The students discussed the ways to maintain a drug-free society and displayed positive character traits. With these themes in mind, over 520 students created quilt squares depicting their version of how to carry out these themes. Each of the quilts covered four feet by thirty feet of paper and hung proudly in front of the school. Students at Chaparral found a beautiful way to express themselves and their commitment to a healthy lifestyle.
